A senior year can mean so many things to so many people. One foot out the door to adulthood or a short time until you have to leave to head to college or travel the world. So many emotions can come with being a high school senior. At PMP I want to help you capture where you are in this moment as you head into adulthood. We can capture your free spirit or maybe you are headed off to play sports in college. Whatever your journey, I would like to help you document it with an exciting senior photo session.
HOW WE CREATE THE EXPERIENCE
Each session is a customized experience. The experience starts with an informational consultation (think creative work session)to understand your goals and to make sure we are on the same page! I gather information up front to make sure I have what you want so we can create custom art work for you and your family to remember this experience.
This process includes a questionnaire that allows me to learn as much about you as I can that can help me create images that speak to you and capture the soul of the subject. The creative control lies within me, but it is directly derived from our conversations. I want the portraits to capture you and who you feel you are, but are in my fine art style. We will stay in contact as much as you need to to discuss clothing and anything that comes up that you need support with.
One of the goals of your senior session is to make sure you are taken care of from how to pose and the tricks and techniques to get that authentic expression. I will work with you to find "your best side" and angle. We will create some classic poses, but also work in a more free style approach so you have both wall worthy as well as social media worthy images.
Senior girls sessions are typically 2 hours. It is recommended that you use no more than 2 locations and 3 outfit selections. Hair and make up is recommended and I will provide you with contacts if you wish to add that to your experience. Please see more information on hair and make up here
The planning of the photo session is critical. When you plan for the session it allows you to create a sense of calm on the session day. Planning allows for more enjoyment during the session. A critical component of the planning of a portrait session is the clothing. Clothing conveys so much about the subject, the mood and tone. While I believe the portrait is of the individual, keeping that focus and having it "makes sense" is based on planning for the entire image. I will guide you through the process of picking the outfits and will offer suggestions on where to purchase outfits specific to the look you are wishing to achieve. You may also borrow items from my closet.
THE ORDERING APPOINTMENT/REVEAL
We will meet approximately 2 to 3 weeks after the session ( scheduled on the date of the session) to view the gallery of images and select your favorites. You will see approximately 20 to 30 edited images. You will select the poses and edits you love and we will use those images to create a beautiful portfolio you will be happy to share with family and friends. You will be able to select from prints, wall art ( canvas or framed prints), story box and digital images. At PMP I believe it is important to print your images. I have the option of digital files as a selection, but I encourage all my clients to allow me to print images for their keepsakes. The average senior client spends $1200 on senior portraits. What you spend is totally up to you.
